Can any dog attend day care?

Not every dog is suitable for day care. Many thrive, but for some it's just not for them, and it's important that we get that right. We have a vigilant trial and induction process in place to ensure that every dog we enrol will be happy, and enjoy their experience so that day care remains a fun, welcoming and stress free home from home for all our guests.

What if my dog needs a break from play and socialising?

Day care is full of fun and friends, but we also insist on rest periods, where everyone can catch their breath and have a well earned nap. We also have several different rooms which enables us to separate like minded dogs and provide a more leisurely pace for those that enjoy it.

How do I enrol my dog?

Just give us a call or fill out an enquiry form online. One of the team will be in contact, we'll go through a few details and get your 'Meet and Greet' booked in.

What are your opening times?

Monday-Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, we are closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

What if I cannot drop off/pick up my dog within your opening times?

Do not worry, we have a great transport service in place where one of our team will chauffeur your Fancy Hound to and from day care. Read more about this option on our 'Day Care Extras' page.

Can I drop/collect my dog directly from day care, or do I have to use the transport service?

We are very fortunate to have ample off street parking available for our lovely dogs and their owners. We ask that drop offs and collections are made during the first and last hour of our day to minimise disruption to our guests, however, if you do need to occasionally collect/drop off your dog at a different time just let us know.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated to attend day care?

Yes, in line with our licence and for the health and safety of all our guests, your dog must be vaccinated for DHP, Lepto and Kennel Cough. We will need to see and take a copy of your dog's vaccination card or have a letter from your vet to confirm that their vaccinations are up to date. We do not accept Titre testing.

Does my dog need to be spayed/neutered to attend day care?

Yes, all adult dogs are required to be neutered/spayed to attend day care.

Unneutered puppies are welcome to attend up to the age of 12 months.

We understand that in some circumstances a female dog will have their first season before spaying, and therefore we can be flexible when it comes to the age of our female guests. We just ask that they do not attend day care whilst in season.

Pricing depends on the number of days per week that your dog attends.

Grooming

Does my dog have to attend The Fancy Hound Day Care to book an appointment?

No, every pup deserves to feel fancy so our books are open to all.

Does my dog have to follow the same requirements regarding vaccinations/neutering, to book a grooming appointment?

No, if your pup does not attend our day care, they do not need to follow the same requirements. Although if your pup is feeling under the weather we do ask that you re-schedule your appointment.

Are your groomers qualified?

Absolutely, our groomers are qualified, experienced and most importantly, adore dogs!

Are your grooming appointments one to one, or are there other dogs in the same room?

All of our grooming appointments are one to one, less distractions and zero stress.
